SHA Holding Community Informational Meeting for Merritt Blvd. Improvement Project on Nov. 28
WHAT: Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) staff will hold a community informational meeting to provide
information about SHA’s upcoming project to improve safety and ride quality on MD 157 (Merritt Boulevard) from
Peninsula Expressway to Wise Avenue in southeastern Baltimore County.
WHEN: Wednesday, November 28, 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
WHERE: North Point Branch - Baltimore County Public Library, 1716 Merritt Boulevard, Dundalk, MD 21222 (Merritt Boulevard at Holabird Avenue). The presentation will be held in the library’s Meeting Room.
WHY: The purpose of the informal presentation is to provide updates and information to the community on the MD 157 (Merritt Boulevard) safety and resurfacing project from Peninsula Expressway to Wise Avenue.
The MD 157 improvement project consists of pavement patching, pavement resurfacing, drainage improvements, new curb and gutter, new sidewalk with ADA upgrades, traffic signal upgrades/modifications including audible pedestrian signal function, median improvements, and minor landscaping.
The project is in the final design stage, with construction planned to begin late spring 2013. All major work will be
completed within existing SHA right of way. Some properties will be temporarily affected by minor roadwork such as grading and constructing sidewalk, curb or driveway tie-ins. SHA’s design team will give a brief project presentation and will be available to answer questions.
