Baltimore County Public Schools Closing Two Hours Early Friday
Superintendent Dallas Dance announced the early dismissal on his Twitter account.
Baltimore County Public Schools will close two hour early on Friday, according to Superintendent Dallas Dance.
On his Twitter account, Dance cited impending inclement weather as the reason behind the early closure. All afternoon and evening activities will be canceled.

Perhaps the empty buildings could be used to house the homeless. I just hope the children don't run into them though. It would be awful for the kids to see how things really are. Like they did at the Dundalk Rec Center. By the way, with the internet available why do we still bus kids to these buildings each day to be taught the same things they could get on their computers at home?

Absolutely. What parent wouldn't be willing to let their kid hang around a potential drug user, rapist or other type of criminal because their kid was let out of school early?

I respect your opinion, but believe children should be exposed to those less fortunate who are looking for warmth or a roof over their heads. They may be motivated to reach out and help.
School is more than just the 3 Rs. Socializing, interacting with diversity, teamwork and respect for others opinions and ideas are just some of the other benefits.
Erring on the side of safety is prudent.

Patricia, I must partially disagree. From what I have seen, "interacting with diversity" is not necessarily a benefit to young impressionable kids.
