Dog Euthanized after Eastwood Attack

Baltimore County Animal Control officials put down the beagle-pit bull mix that bit a toddler.

The dog that attacked a toddler in Eastwood Sunday was put down by Baltimore County Animal Control officials, WJZ reports.

The child, who was bitten inside a home in the 7200 block on Conley Street, was in stable condition, according to The Baltimore Sun.

She got stitches and will require extensive treatment for her face, where the dog bit her, ABC 2 News reported. Multiple reports indicate the girl did not provoke the dog, which was a beagle-pit bull mix.

OK. So another mis-bred, untrained, badly supervised dog is dead.

Please tell us that the incident will carry some meaningful consequences for the adult humans whose negligence allowed it to happen.

Stan- Glad to hear someone doesn't blame the dog. Never leave a child unattended....in a pool, in the yard, in a car, NOWHERE, whether there is a dog or not. A dog owner is responsible for the dog, parents are responsible for their children.

I think the owners of the dog should be charged. I don't care for pit bulls and would not dare have one near my children. This breed of dog in particular gives Beagles a bad name. Beagles are the most serene, loveable and dedicated dogs in the world. I sure hope that the baby is alright. Young children should never be left unattended, but especially when a pit bull is around. They are just unpredictable. Whether you raised them right or not.
