Dundalk's Concerts in the Park Kick Off Tonight

Free concerts will be held each Thursday evening through Aug. 16.

The community bonding opportunities provided by the Heritage Fair, parade and fireworks have come and gone, but there are still plenty of chances to enjoy the outdoors and mix with friends old and new this summer.

For the next six Thursdays, free Concerts in the Park will be held at Heritage Park at 6:30 p.m.

The music series kicks off tonight with Drunken Uncles, a classic rock and roll band.

The program is sponsored by the Dundalk-Eastfield Recreation Council, the Dundalk-Patapsco Neck Historical Society and Angel Ball.

Food and beverages will be for sale through vendors Chick-fil-A and Mean Jean the Hot Dog Machine. Snowballs, popcorn and "walking tacos" will be sold by rec council program volunteers. Edible Arrangements employees will give out free samples of their treats.

"We're hoping to get 700-plus to every concert," Ball said Thursday. "No one makes any money—the bands all donate their services.

"I tell the bands that if they come, I will promote, promote, promote. So I need the community to come out and support, support, support."
