Dundalk Student Shines in CCBC Nursing Program

Dundalk resident Tracy Pachilis recently was inducted in The Community College of Baltimore County's chapter of the Alpha Eta Honor Society.

Dundalk resident Tracy Pachilis was among the 46 students recently inducted in The Community College of Baltimore County's chapter of the Alpha Eta Honor Society.

The organization honors allied health students for academic achievement, according to a statement from college officials.

For the first time, a special ceremony was held to recognize the new inductees, college spokeswoman Jacquie Lucy said.

"In the past they were recognized during the School of Health Professions Student Recognition Ceremony held prior to graduation," Lucy said in an email to Patch.

Pachilis studies in the day nursing program held on the Essex campus under the direction of Mary Kay DeMarco.

Membership in the society, the national honor society for allied health professions students, requires an overall grade-point average of 3.5 or better, completion of a minimum of half of the professional program courses, and demonstrated leadership ability and a high level of professionalism, according to a statement from Lucy.
