Five Guys Looking for a Dundalk Location
The fast-food burger chain is looking for suitable sites in Dundalk and Ellicott City.
Know of a 2,500 - 3,000 square foot space for rent?
That’s how much room Mike McLaughlin is looking for to open additional Five Guys Burgers and Fries restaurants, reports the Baltimore Business Journal.
McLaughlin, who already owns seven of the restaurants, is looking to open numbers eight and nine in Ellicott City and Dundalk. The Millersville resident told the Journal that he’s looking for free-standing or strip center locations for the burger chain.
Forbes magazine in its August issue called Five Guys the fastest-growing chain in the United States. There are currently 55 locations in Maryland and more than 1,000 locations in the United States and Canada, according to the corporate website. The chain started in Arlington, VA in 1986, according to the website.
McLaughlin told the Journal that the business model worked because of its simplicity.
“If we focus on doing a few things right," he said, "you could build a very good business out of that.”

It's fun and tastes great! I like how the one in Whitemarsh has tables outside to sit at. It doesn't seem like a "Fast Food" place... More of a casual restaurant!

There is no reason that they shouldn't do what White Marsh did with Campbell Blvd. There are obviously some structural differences, as these would all be joined, but why not things like Panera, Yogi Castle, Five Guys, Starbucks, Noodles and Co. Even in Canton the small strip that contains Dunkin Donuts, Pasta Mista, Five Guys, Panera, Floyd's.
I could see that occupying a realistic segment of the space they are trying to fill. People in Dundalk spend a lot of money on food...elsewhere. I hope whatever the plan is contains some of these options. They would do well.
Very excited to see something other than a McDonalds coming to Dundalk!

How about where the old Harold's building is. There is a lot of building going on in Stansbury Park and the new homes on Yorkway. We would love to see Five Guys on this side of Holabird Ave. too.
