UPDATE: Police Arrest Boyfriend of Formerly Missing Dulaney Student
The 23-year-old Perry Hall man has been charged with making a false statement to police.
(Update 8:57 p.m.)— The boyfriend of Aria White, the Dulaney High School senior who went missing on Saturday and was found Thursday, has been arrested for making a false statement to police.
David C. Givens, 23, of the 3700-block of Timahoe Circle in Perry Hall previously told police that White was at his home starting on Saturday and was picked up by someone on Christmas Eve, said Cathleen Batton, a county police spokeswoman. When an officer went to follow up with the boyfriend, White, 17, was discovered at the house.
Givens has been released on his own recognizance, police said in a news release.
White was initially believed to have gone missing in the Perry Hall area after a visit to the White Marsh Mall.

Lying to the Police is kind of an odd crime given that when the case gets tried in the court room the best liar is the winner.

She is so close to graduation..Couldn't she hold out 5 months. She must be close to 18 yrs old. Sad that this family, her included could not resolve this. In addition, she is much to young to date a 23 year old. My daughter would have to wait till she was 18 to even think about dating someone older than her.

@Shelly well you just said she's close to 18 lol so lets be realistic, it's no big deal for her to date a 23 year. Age is simply a number

The boy friend must be exhausted by now. I'm surprised he was available to answer the door.

I think the guys brain is busting through the top of his cranium and the resulting pressure cut off the blood supply to his brain.

Not funny-- He lied about her whereabouts. He let her parents, family and friends worry about whether she was alive. He lied to the police resulting in a lot of wasted manhours that could have been used elsewhere. What is he doing out on his own recognizance?

So did she... why aren't they both in prison? Isn't that what we should do with teens who lie about being at their boyfriends house?

I'm trying to behave, but this story is just too tempting. The complete dysfunction of the whole situation is quiet serious in all reality, but you've got to admit it's got a Jerry Springer flavor at the same time. I'm glad the girl was found unharmed. Of course, none of this would have been humorous had the girl been taken against her will or had been harmed. OK, I'll leave the girl out of it, but I think it's safe for the readers to at least bust on the guy a bit, look at him.

She is ridiculous. What kind of person would let her family suffer through thr holidays wondering if she was ever coming home. Like previously said, She wasted police resources and I think she should be charged as well. Make an example out of her and make her regret her little hide and seek game!

EXACTLY! How dysfunctional is this family - or at least this very self-centered, selfish child to not let her family know where she is, ESPECIALLY over Christmas! What a mess.

listen, she is one of my good friends, she would't run off like that during the holidays. if she did run away and did this on purpose, then yes, she made a mistake, a big mistake. But if she did not run away then we don't know the whole story. Her whole family is going to need some sort of counseling after all of this anyway. and if you saw her family on facebook and what all they were posting, then you would know how upset they all were. Don't judge what a person does if you don't know their reasoning behind it and if you don't really know what happened.

Decades ago, sullen girls would run off, away from home, with their boyfriends, all the time. They'd find out things weren't as hunky-dory as they had dreamed, and they snuck back to their families, and nobody was the wiser, UNLESS they got pregnant (that's another story altogether)
NOW, it becomes front-page news, the police are involved, and boyfriend is arrested.
Ah, the good ole' days!

Kids now a days do not 'rat' each other out. I am sure several of her friends knew where she was. Thank Goodness the Landlord had the decency to tell the Police.

Her family said she was a good girl and wouldnt just run off, I quess they dont know her to well, maybe they should spend some time with her and well get to know her!
I agree charges should be brought against her as well, for hiding from the police, using man hours that could have been used else where. Maybe some community service down at a soup kitchen or a homeless shelter for battered woman would help scare some since into her.

when does it stop? when do the teenagers start having some sense of all the grief they generate by acting out like this? And where is the sense of the 23 year old? Obviously neither individual has any concerns for parents and/or family members?
