Heritage Fair Officials Announce Main Acts

Three Dog Night and Jefferson Starship are among this year's headline performers.

The Dundalk Heritage Fair Association has announced the headline acts for this year's Heritage Fair, set for June 28, 29 and 30, in Heritage Fair in downtown Dundalk.

Friday night will be devoted to tribute acts, with Almost Queen and The Mahoney Brothers taking Stage 1.

Three Dog Night will be the main attraction Saturday night and Jefferson Starship will close out the festival on Sunday night.

Heritage Fair started in 1976 as a celebration of the nation's bicentennial, and was intended to be a one-time event.

The festival proved to be so successful that organizers were convinced to continue the production.

The three-day event has two stages plus a third one in the beer garden that features karaoke.

More entertainment information will be published as it comes available.

"Well dog my cats!" That's what an old Maine woodsman friend of mine used to say when he was pleasantly surprised about something. But I ain't livin' in the North Woods anymore, I'm down here in Dundalk, where we throw a three day celebration every 4th of July holiday time and have internationally known and loved music acts play for us in our nice little Heritage Park. And I don't know why I'm so surprised, except maybe because the summer heat was so rough at last year's fair it trimmed the attendance down some and a heavy storm hit one night and darn near shut the fair down completely. It amazed everyone how volunteers got the fair up and running with only a few hours attendance time lost. It did look like the fair might not make much money, though. I figured there wouldn't be enough to pay for two major music acts this year, but we're gonna enjoy two great ones again!

I sure am thankful to the folks who keep it going and have lined up two more world class Rock and Roll groups for this summer's fair. Thanks folks.

If you have never been to the Dundalk Heritage Fair, maybe I can persuade you to attend this year. Check out photos and videos of some previous Heritage Fair music acts, and see how great their performances were in Dundalk Heritage Park. Outstanding performances in a shaded, grass carpeted venue, where relaxed and comfortable audiences enjoy good times with family, friends and visitors from near and far. Dave in 2010 I played my Ovation Breadwinner Guitar on stage with Ronnie Dove's band. It's a vintage guitar and the act before wanted to buy it.

Ron gave me the play list and when it came time to jump in the band played a different arrangement. Ron still cold belt out a tune. His voice was amazing for his age.

Michelle — These are just the three main headline acts that perform on Stage 1 as the last act of each day. I can't speak for the Heritage Fair committee, obviously, but I can't imagine the fair without Ronnie Dove—he has quite a loyal following. The rest of the entertainment schedule is still being worked on and will be announced as it comes available. —Marge
