The Baltimore County Public Schools released the following press announcement:

Eleven visual arts teachers from Baltimore County Public Schools have had their presentation proposals accepted for the 2012 National Art Education Association Convention, to be held in New York City, March 1-4, 2012.  

The teachers are:

• Vicky Ali, Sparrows Point High School
• Jesse Dortzbach, Western School of Technology
• Sherri Fisher, Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts
• Grace Hulse, Orems Elementary School
• Caryn Martin, Towson High School
• Jen McBrien, Parkville High School
• Cheryl Milligan, Towson High School
• Ashley Molfino, Franklin High School
• Deb Rogers, Cromwell Valley Elementary School
• Joanne Perlin, Randallstown Elementary School
• Rachel Valsing, Lansdowne High School

"To have 11 presentations selected from one school district is very impressive. The selection process is highly competitive,” said Linda Popp, BCPS visual arts coordinator. “These BCPS teachers make inspiring professional contributions to advance research and practice in visual arts education."

The convention, Emerging Perspectives|Connecting Teaching, Learning, and Research, is expected to attract 6,000 participants and will celebrate NAEA’s 65th anniversary. NAEA members include K-12 teachers as well as college and university professors, researchers, scholars, artists, administrators, and art museum educators.
