State Comptroller Peter Franchot awarded Dundalk's Boulevard Diner the state certificate of recognition for providing a welcoming atmosphere and delicious homemade food to the greater Baltimore area since 2001.

“This restaurant is located in the heart of Dundalk,” said Franchot. “It's very important to have economic drivers, like the Boulevard Diner, employing local people.”

Owner Sam Tsakiris and his son, Marc, the restaurant's general manager, acepted the award. The restaurant had recently been featured on an episode of the hit Food Network television show “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives” hosted by celebrity restaurateur Guy Fieri, who travels across the United States profiling unique restaurants.

“Marc has worked very hard to get where he is today,” said Sam Tsakiris. “he started out at the bottom and has worked his way to the top.”

Another good exclusive story for Patch. Nice touch at the end. Greg, just curious what kind of video equipment did you use? Excellent picture with good sound acoustics.

I noticed tonight that the diner has actually been on Diners, Drive - Ins and Dives twice now. Once in 2008, which featured the owner Sam, and the one just the other night, which featured Marc.

I have been to the Boulevard Diner many times and I have always been happy there. Great food with great prices, and plenty of food to even take home with you. The people that work there are very nice and helpful. Definitely an experience everyone should not miss.

Absolutely the best food ever. Old family recipes cooked with love. Generous portions reasonably priced and quality food. Not your typical diner food. I live in Perry Hall and eat there frequently, once I had breakfast (yum) and then returned for dinner (double yum), The service is excellent, staff is great, and this place is clean. Why else would Guy Fieri visit and have The Boulevard Diner on the Food Network?

My wife and I drive over an hour to go to the Boulevard diner for the atmosphere and the food. Only porblem we have is there is always too much food, but then, that is next days treat. The crab cakes are worth the drive and the sour beef and dumblings are on my list for the next visit. We love diners and been to most, but the Boulevard is, by far, the best. Out of 5 stars we give it 5

The Boulevard Diner is one of my favorite places to eat. They have delicious food, resonable prices, and a good atmosphere. Also, the diner is very clean and the staff are fast and efficient. The crabcakes and the Greek chicken souvlaki platter are my favorites. Out of 5 stars, I would give them 5.

What a great day it was for Dundalk. It continues to be the Pride of Dundalk.
I love crabcakes are the best, even in any of your seafood restaurants that specialize in seafood and have a much higher price. Did you try their rice pudding? WOW
All their chicken dishes are excellent. Hey what about the burgers? Try them and you will also be writing in here.
