Edgemere photographer Kris Kondylas patiently followed this female cardinal along a trail at North Point State Park until she finally stopped and posed for him.

Edgemere photographer Kris Kondylas got a new camera for Christmas and immediately headed to North Point State Park, a favorite spot for local photographers in search of nature shots, to try it out.

Kondylas said he was inspired by a recent photo by Jimmy Rode to get his own photos of a female cardinal.

With new camera in tow, he spotted this beauty as she foraged and flew through the waterfront park.

"After following her through the trail for a while she finally rested in this tree and let me snap away at her," Kondylas said in an email to Dundalk Patch.
