A sharp eye, a quick beak and a little patience paid off in the form of frog legs (and the rest of him too) for lunch for this green heron at North Point State Park.

Yesterday's Photo of the Day featured a green heron looking out over an algae-covered pond/swamp at North Point State Park.

The image, captured by Dundalk photographer Jimmy Rode, seemed to show a futile search for lunch, with the algae providing a safety net for the pond's inhabitants.

Today's image from Rode, titled "Cuisses de Grenouille," shows that patience—and having a sharp eye—paid off for the bird, which enjoyed a lunch considered a delicacy by many humans (though prepared slightly differently).
