Shirley Siegert: Mother of Eight But There for Everyone

My mother, Shirley Siegert, raised about 250 children.
She is called Shirley, SB, Aunt Shirl, Ms. Shirley, Mom, Momma,
Grandmom and Bushy (and sometimes pocketbook).
She gave birth to five girls and three boys, but there are also those who entered our home and entered her heart.
She took care of the “neighborhood." Whenever someone needed something, Mom was there – there were no strangers to her.
Mom didn’t work outside the home for most of her married life. How could she with her domestic role? She was the maid, the cook, the chaueffeur, the Brownie leader, the teacher's helper, the crisis prevention center and then the crisis center AFTER the crisis was over.
She gave me life – always made me feel special and believed in me no matter what I did. She taught me things beyond right and wrong. She taught me how to forgive and forget … and how to love beyond expectation.
She taught me to treat each person kindly because you never know what burden they carry. And she lived her life by that example.
I feel so blessed that God choose her for my mother.
I love you Mom.
