Star-Gazing Party at CCBC Dundalk Friday

Dundalk residents can get a close-up and personal look at the evening sky, thanks to the gathering at the Sollers Point Road observatory.

If you've ever been accused of being a dreamer, or if you often catch yourself staring at the stars and just standing in awe of the universe around you, the Community College of Baltimore County has just the event for you.

The college's Dundalk campus will host a Star Party from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday, March 15, at its observatory on the front lawn of the campus at 7200 Sollers Point Road.

The observatory (officially known as T Building) is equipped with a Celestron 14-inch CGE 1400 XLT telescope. CCBC Associate Professor David Ludwikoski runs the star-gazing gatherings, which are free and open to the public.

To find the observatory, make the first right after entering the campus, park in the lot and walk to the observatory, which is a small round building fenced off in the lawn in front of the parking lot.
