Three Accused of Shoplifting, Fleeing from Sears

Three men from Edgewood were arrested earlier this month after allegedly shoplifting from the Eastpoint Mall and breaking into a home in an attempt to hide from police.
Baltimore County police allege that Wayne Tyrek Hurst, 19; Caesar Lamar Nelson, 24, and Tayquan Hasan Hurst, 18, shoplifted 18 pairs of Levi jeans and two hooded sweatshirts, valued at $1,156 from Sears shortly after noon on Oct. 2.
The three ran out of Sears and broke into a home in 1000 block of Elton Avenue in an attempt to hide, Baltimore County police said.
The men were caught inside the home and the items were returned to Sears, according to Baltimore County police reports.
Nelson, Wayne Hurst and Tayquan Hurst were all charged with third-degree burglary, theft of between $1,000 and $10,000, theft of less than $1,000 and malicious destruction of property.
They were released from Baltimore County Detention Center after posting bond. Preliminary hearings have been set for Oct. 28

Lynn, no one goes to jail anymore unless maybe it's for a homicide. The crazy part is they were released on bail. I used to watch them smile as they were leaving while we were still doing the paperwork.

You the bail bond guy? LOLOL. My husband used to work for loss prevention... practically no one ever went to jail.

Lynn, no I'm the cop. One of my retired friends asked his brother who is still on the job working drugs how many cases he worked where there was jail time. He thought for a moment and answered, none.
It's a game of wheel and deal. You look at every serious crime and you'll see a rap sheet as long as a roll of Charmin.

City criminals do not like being arrested in the county because of the perception that the county judges are tougher.
The Sun is full of stories of career criminals involved in homicides when they should have been behind bars. Go figure!
