BLOG: Seagram's and Sparrows Point CC Get Zoning Approval From County Council

Two of the main zoning change issues for the 7th Councilmanic District (Greater Dundalk and parts of Essex), Seagram's and the Sparrows Point Country Club, were approved at Monday night's CMZP special session of the Baltimore County Council.

The two issues concerning the Dundalk area were widely covered by the news media. Issues included community protests, enviormental concerns and traffic concerns.

The Seagram's property is owned by developer John Vontran.  Sparrows Point CC is member owned.

Both request were handled by 7th District Councilman John Olszewski, Jr.

Eastsider, the number indicated the site and when the county listed the results of the CZMP they listed numbers so unless you were aware of a particular issue along with address you'll be in the dark.

When I called to get the information early in the morning the council secretary took awhile to find the corresponding address with the zoning number.

The number seven indicates the district followed by the issue number.

I listed Seagram's and Sparrows Point CC becuase of the publicity surrounding the two. I am aware there were also other zoning issues in the area and those involved can now check their number with the PDF.

I know of one in the area dealing with a marina and some private property the owners wanted to sell for development.
