Finally, Our Voices Will Be Heard About Section 8 And Its Impact On Dundalk

I have been writing about this for years and even ran a political campaign on the issues and lost.  That did not deter me from continuing to voice my concerns over the issues.

Steve Mattrazzo, a columnist for The Dundalk Eagle, wrote the following concerning the conditions in Dundalk:  “And what do we have now? The closure of the steel mill and the overall decline in the local economy, and all of the travails that come with prolonged downturn – crime, substance abuse, trash, rats, vacant buildings falling into disrepair – creeping ever further into regularity”.

In response to not only our two voices but many others as well, we finally are being heard.  I will let the letter from our political leaders do the talking.   If you care and want to have your voice heard make sure you’re there Wednesday, January 23rd from 6-8 p.m. in the meeting room at the North Point Branch of the Baltimore County Public Library located in the Merrit Park Shopping Center.

The meeting deals with HOME (Housing Opportunities Made Equal) Act, or as many of know it, Section 8.

Please read the PDF file for a complete copy of the letter.

They would get a better turnout if it wasn't the same night "Honey Boo Boo" airs..

"The meeting deals with HOME (Housing Opportunities Made Equal) Act, or as many of know it, Section 8."

That's wrong. The HOME Act and Section 8 are two totally and disparate things.

The landlord there doesn't screen tenants very well... this used to be a nice place...now if you got section 8 voucher your in! No matter how much you fix up the outside you still have section 8 inside! Let's do something about THAT for starters!

Matt your are correct and thanks. Statins (heart meds) are causing havoc with cognitive skills. Some days are worse than others.

This is the correct version:

Please remember as per the letter you must RSVP Delegate John Olszewski's office if you wish to attend. If you call the Delegate's office ask for his aide Kimberly Routson.

Here is the e-mail address:

ksroutson@gmail.com

or call (410) 841-3458.
