Thank you for writing about this, it is sad to see a business that has developed a specialized product, right in your own backyard, that is almost 100 years old, close its doors.
But this is happening and no one even noticed except a man to argue over grammer with the author of the article.
It doesn't matter, 55 more people, out of a job..most of whom have worked at the plant since it was Reid Avery and some who have never worked anywhere else. All because Maryland officials did not step in when Lincoln asked for incentives to stay.
There are machines used in the old processes that are almost as old as the company still located in the building. It's part of Maryland's industrial history almost to be no more.
oh well..time to move on....

I wrote that story after hearing from a good friend of an employee. I went on line and read the press releases from the company and went down there to take photos.
I felt that after hearing all the state and county propaganda people need to hear the truth.
I heard O'Malley's "Move Forward" chant when I ran for office. You would think he might have the forethought to find a new slogan after all these years instead of the stale - same ole same ole.
It's sad for those people at that plant. It's sad for the people of Maryland.

It is sad..I just wanted the people in Dundalk and Baltimore actually, who seem to be so proud of their rich industrial heritage what Techalloy actually is and what will be leaving. In your story you are right though, which is very sad, that obviously Lincoln found the company valuable enough to purchase.
O"Malley never even replied to my questions when I emailed him about this when we found out, through a newspaper article in Ohio, by the way.
I am just glad to have been a part of this, even in some small way, the employees here take a great deal of pride in what they do and have worked here for many years. Buzz, thanks for writing about this..Im glad someone did.
