More About Gunpowder Falls State Park
What appears to be nothing more than a parking lot off Belair Road is actually a gateway into multiple hiking and biking trails along the Gunpowder River. Sandy banks, rills and intricate rock formations provide the ideal landscape for an intimate picnic, an afternoon stroll or a run with your favorite (leashed) pet. Signs with environmental facts, mileage markers and fenced nature preserves add to the park's educational appeal. Local water-lovers will also enjoy fishing, swimming, kayaking and tubing down Perry Hall's most popular natural landmark. Park rangers ask that visitors take all of their trash with them upon exiting the area.
