Holiday Train Garden 2012 - 2013

Our Train Garden is at 4 Center Place across from Bowling Alley on Dundalk Ave. and M&T Bank on Shipping Place

Our train garden began more than 10 years ago. A modest thirty-two square foot display.

This year as years past, our garden will again expand. It will cover nearly 400 square feett of the museum's main exhibit floor. Our guests can expect to see six trains, two trolley lines, villages, tunnels, an amusement park, and many other new items never seen in our garden ever before.

With approximately 100 animated items, the 2012 holiday exhibit promises to be a winter wonderland of lights, sound, action and adventure.

The 13th annual holiday train garden at the Dundalk Patapsco Neck Historical Society and Museum Inc., 4 Center Place in the Dundalk Village Shopping Center is slated for Saturday Dec. 1 through Sunday Jan. 6th.

Daily Hours 12:00 Noon - 8:00 PM Dec. 24th noon - 5 PM Closed Dec. 25, 2012 Admission is FREE

I remember the night I went to see the garden and take pics of Santa for a blog. While waiting I hear a screech and turned around to see the fatal accident involving an elderly pedestrian woman just up from Florida. She was crossing Dundalk Ave. in the cross walk. A sad night. They didn't even put a blanket on her as she lay on the roof of the car and it wasn't anyone from the crash team. I called the crash team and said it's about time for some training for the patrol officers that were there. A sad night. Santa, what Santa?

Allen I went there for Patch to blog on the event. A fatal is a little more important than Santa Klaus. Ya think! I also witnesses part of it and called the crash team. Seems like there are some that don't know their job. I guess you think people show have stayed on the NJ Ferris wheel to watch mother nature. Whose pics you think covered the story of that poor woman. What did Santa care he was warm surrounded by kids laughing ho, ho, ho, while someone was dying. I spent 39 years as a cop, most of it in crash investigation. Stay in line when someone is dying! What kind of off-the-wall remark is that. You don't let the victim lay there have uncovered while the rest walk around in circles. Ever hear of shock and how to treat it? I guess not. That not up Santa's alley. I also told people not to touch her as they tried to do. That could have killed her instantly.

You brought it up suggesting I turn my back on a fatal and stay in line for Santa. Where did you hear the pedestrian was at fault? There is a crosswalk there and a traffic light. Show me a quote where I blame the Historical Society. I simply stated I was there to cover the event. You raised the issue of the Societies role in this matter and my subsequent actions. http://dundalk.patch.com/articles/pedestrian-hit How you can blame or connect this HS to this is a bit of a stretch.

Allan, I heard the screeching breaks and impact I turned around and saw the car come to a stop. How could I not be on the scene. I was more than 3/4 of the way down the side walk looking at the bag/candals.There were other people who had gathered to help and I reminded them not to touch her just as the nurse did. I also called 911 plus had a conversation with the crash team supervision who I had worked with. Look at the photos I took. The car comes to rest right after the cross walk just north of corner. You can tell by the curve in the road and street light. Unless you check the tapes there is no way to tell who called 911 first. If the photos were way after the accident what is the woman's body still doing on the roof of the car? Stick to planing Santa. You weren't even there and your telling everybody what happened. I can't believe people can be so out of it. What you described is all hearsay, a term used in the law. I was there, in person, heard the entire sounds, saw the car come to a stop with the woman's body on top of the hood and also yelled at someone who was going to remove the woman's shoe from the crosswalk. That is what is known as evidence. What police department did you work for? Did you ever reconstruct an accident

Allan, I,m not trying to pick a issue with you or be condescending with you which I may have done. It is just that people come after me many times without prior knowledge of the event or ingrain some expertise into a situation that is out their knowledge and attack me. As a retired cop of 39 years most of it investigating accidents, I research everything I write. I'm not abut to tell a doctor how to operate, it's out of my league. One's background in a particular topic gives credence to their comments. Being in Tennessee at the time and criticizing me for my comment is what started this. The only reference of the HS was in relationship to the location of the accident, period. It had nothing to do with the accident or the article. I could not in good conscience stand by and do nothing even knowing Santa was coming. Besides this was well before he arrived.

No sir I was stating "FACT" we were inviting people to come out to see Santa and Luminaries, and hear music. Your comment made it seem if they were to come out with it being in Dundalk there is more of a chance of getting run over. Thus telling parents to stay away. These are the type of comments I received.

Also sir about those shoes for them to just come off the body was jolted thus meaning the shoes would then fly. They may have went up before they hit the ground this would have been determined by the medical examiner. Although it was not performed. (Family Member) works for that department. The driver had a green light at the time and another vehicle had passed just seconds before that vehicle came and the person hit was ten foot away from cross walk when hit.

Allan read David's comment and how dangerous that intersection is. My comments said nothing about staying away from the event.

(Your statement) I could not in good conscience stand by and do nothing/ I could not either Buzz. (Your Statement) It is just that people come after me many times without prior knowledge of the event or ingrain some expertise into a situation that is out their knowledge and attack me./ I have no reason to attack you or come at you except for advertising and stating about our adventure we're having getting our garden going this season. If you have a chance "Buzz" - (Only) stop by early one evening perhaps we can talk and you can see our progress.... No photo's allowed... Except by DUNDALK'S own David Robert Crews, or DUNDALK TV's Scott Collier. My photo's of our progress will not go up till after we open on the first. It's completely different and larger than 2010.

The train garden is great and I contribute financially to it. I do not blog on those events any more. Politics is taking up all my time. I have more information that I can possibly get too. People are coming forward with a ton of information and asking for help. I cover items the other blogs or media would never consider. I fight for the have nots. http://dundalk.patch.com/blog_posts/sentenced-to-life-without-parole
