Dundalk Camera Club Portraits from Pa. Wolf Preserve

The wolf sanctuary in Lititz, Pa. offers photo tours as well as regular tours of the grounds.

On Feb. 12, members of the Dundalk Camera Club took an outing to the Wolf Sanctuary of Pennsylvania in Lititz, which offers photo tours as well as regular tours of the grounds.

Located on 22 acres of woodland just north of Lancaster in the Pennsylvania Dutch country, the refuge is home to wolves who have found themselves without a place in the natural world. It has been over a hundred years since the last wild Wolf was known to exist in Pennsylvania, according to the Wolf Sanctuary of Pennsylvania website.

The photo tour allows participates to get inside the outer of two fences. The interior fence of the newest and largest enclosure has openings big enough to get the front of the camera lens through the fence. This allows the photographers to easily get photos without the fence showing.

"Originally created as an educational facility, the Sanctuary has allowed the wolves, as nearly as possible to associate as a pack, choose their mates and raise their offspring," according to the Wolf Sanctuary of Pennsylvania website.
