Photo of the Day: Snapping Turtle Seeks Dry Land?
Early Sunday morning, contributor Greg Stotler came upon county employees trying convince a snapping turtle to move off Bethlehem Boulevard in Edgemere.
Perhaps even two-foot snapping turtles have had enough of Hurricane Irene and all the rain over the weekend. This one made its way into the middle of Bethlehem Boulevard in Edgemere before deciding to stop on the relative dry pavement early Sunday morning.
Several county employees arrived on the scene to help him along, but according to contributor Greg Stotler, who took this photo, it took some convincing.
"It did make me a little nervous about stepping into the water in the future," said Stotler, who lives near Bullneck Creek.
