Norman Stone's Golden Anniversary

Dundalk Democrat celebrates 50 years in the General Assembly.

The opening of the 430th session of the Maryland General Assembly was an important milestone for one state senator from Baltimore County.

Sen. Norman Stone, 76, is in his 12th term in the Senate and his 50th year in the General Assembly.

The Dundalk Democrat got his start in the Battle Grove Democratic Club and was recruited to run by "Iron Mike" Birmingham, an Eastside political boss who rose to serve as county executive.
