Edgemere's Dock of the Bay Restaurant To Be Sold

The Millers Island waterfront eatery had been closed for the winter.

The Dock of the Bay restaurant, which had been closed for the winter, will not reopen for the spring and will instead be sold.

Larry Thanner, owner of the Millers Island waterfront restaurant, made the announcement late Thursday night on the eatery's Facebook page.

"After careful consideration, owner Larry Thanner has decided to sell Dock of the Bay," the Facebook post, signed by the Dock of the Bay staff, stated. "Dock of the Bay will not be reopening. We would like to thank our loyal patrons! Dock of the Bay will truly be missed."

The restaurant in the fall went from a full-time schedule to a weekend schedule for the winter, and then Thanner closed it altogether. He reopened just for the day on Jan. 26 so he could host the annual Dip at the Dock, a local fundraiser for Maryland Special Olympics.
