North Point Police Save The Day

These incidents may seem small but the repercussions could have been great and here are two examples.

Last week after observing an ongoing problem with four-wheelers and dirt bikes speeding up and down our street, I knew it was a disaster waiting to happen and decided to call the police.  The consequences could have been significant, given the youthful age of the drivers, kids playing in the street and traffic. I called the non-emergency number, 410–887-2222 and reported the incident.

I also noticed the offenders had a trailer parked down the road where they stored their bikes.  This was also a violation since a trailer cannot be left parked on the road without being attached to a vehicle.

The police arrived quickly, caught the offenders and problem solved.  I also noticed the trailer was gone a short time later.  These types of trailers are considered abandoned and can be towed and I’m quite sure the teens did not want to lose their trailer and bikes at the same time.

In another incident, a young female who was previously stalked by her ex-boyfriend called, scared out of her mind because he threatened to harm her.  She had received text messages saying that he would end her life.  This was troubling because the suspect had already served time in prison for violent domestic assault.

Knowing a little about these issues I called the precinct and spoke to Captain Jan Brown who took the information and said the issue would be handled.  It was, and another potential dangerous situation solved.
