Candidate Forum: Meet Ray Boccelli, Candidate for Sheriff of Baltimore County
Ray Boccelli is running for Sheriff of Baltimore County
My name is Ray Boccelli and I am seeking the Office of Sheriff of Baltimore County. I am retired from the U.S. Army having served twenty years of active Federal Service; retiring at the rank of Major. During my career, I have held assignments of increased responsibility and accountability. My last assignment I served as a Post Commander in Germany responsible for the health, welfare and safety of six thousand soldiers and family members and responsible for the life support systems that sustain a military installation.
Upon retirement from the U.S. Army, I joined the Baltimore County Police Department, which I am currently in my nineteenth year. During my Law Enforcement career, I have held a variety of assignments concentrating in the communities and business of Baltimore County; which is an added degree of knowledge that I bring to the table. I am currently a supervisor in one of the Precincts assisting in the supervision of twelve Officers in the Special Operations Unit.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Management and Human Relations from Webster University, St Louis, MO and a Master’s Degree in Homeland Security from Towson University, MD.

My main focus is to achieve a professional organization that is maintained by a highly trained and competent work force that is technologically equipped and commensurably paid, and professionally staffed. One of my first priorities would be to address the shortage of Sheriff Deputies; I believe this shortage can affect the safety of County residents; also, I would immediately work toward the upgrading of equipment and vehicles to further enhance public safety. I will ensure a safe and secure environment for all concerned allowing for an organized proficient and efficient servicing of Baltimore County and its citizens.
Again, my name is Ray Boccelli and a candidate for Sheriff of Baltimore County. I would appreciate your vote of confidence on June 24. Thank You.
