Thursday Evening Concerts In Dundalk Heritage Park

Dundalk's Concerts in the Park series concerts are family oriented, community events held in Dundalk Heritage Park.

Last Thursday, Aug. 2, Dundalk's Concerts in the Park series presented Pet Rock, a trio that played song of the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s.

The Thursday evening concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. at the newly refurbished gazebo in Dundalk Village's Heritage Park. The Stars of Harmony a cappella singers opened the event by singing the "Star-Spangled Banner," and later performed two other songs for their appreciative audience in the park.

These outdoors concerts are some of the most pleasant and peaceful happenings in the known universe. And the photography I've uploaded onto this blog post clearly reveals that what I say on here is certainly so.

The free, family oriented, community events are sponsored by the Dundalk-Eastfield Recreation Council, the Dundalk-Patapsco Neck Historical Society and Angel Ball.

Some good food is always for sale at the concerts, including hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, snowballs, popcorn, sodas, spring water and rec council program volunteers sell "walking tacos."

Upcoming concerts are:

Aug. 9: Impulse (variety)

Aug. 16: 229th Army Rock Band

Those are gonna be two enjoyable shows. But! Well now! As a former US Army photographer, and someone who saw the 229th Band at a previous Concert in the Park, I gotta go all out here and make certain you know that the 229th Army Rock Band kicks out some heavy-duty rock and roll, rhythm and blues, soul, jazz, pop, and patriotic music.
