"30 for 30" Volunteer Opportunities and Appreciation

Watershed Groups including Dundalk Renaissance Corporation Deliver “30 Events for 30 Years” to Mark Three Decades of Chesapeake Bay Restoration

This fall, the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, in partnership with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and the Choose Clean Water Coalition, is bringing watershed groups together to commemorate three decades of Chesapeake Bay restoration and express gratitude to those countless volunteers who have made conservation possible.

The “30 Events for 30 Years: Planting Seeds for the Future” initiative links tree plantings, rain garden installations and other restoration events across the watershed to encourage people to reflect on the Bay’s past and take positive steps toward securing its future.

As part of this celebration, the Dundalk Renaissance Corporation will be hosting two tree plantings. The first is on Saturday November 2 between 8AM -12PM  at Watersedge Baptist Church (3483 Liberty Parkway Dundalk, MD 21222). The second planting is on Saturday November 16 between 9 AM-1PM at Heritage Park (11 Center Place Dundalk, MD 21222). We are looking for volunteers to celebrate with us!

Volunteer efforts like these are essential to the restoring the health of the Bay. “Since the beginning, ordinary citizens, motivated by love of nature and a sense of personal stewardship, have volunteered their time and resources in so many ways,” said Al Todd, executive director of the Alliance. “Picking up trash, planting trees, restoring streams, and monitoring water quality are just some of the ways that volunteers can ensure the health of our rivers and streams.   Each step is a step toward securing the Bay’s future.”
