Dundalk Community Clean-up Efforts on Display

Last Saturday April 6th, over 100 people joined forces to clean-up litter around town.  As part of an annual event throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed, Dundalk participated in Project Clean Stream 2013, marking the 10th year of this six state wide effort.

This year's successful event is displayed in Veterans park where over 240 trash bags and a ton of bulk items were collected for pick-up by the county before April 22nd.  "We told them to take their time getting there so that the town could see how much of an issue littering and dumping has become in Dundalk," says Jacqueline, Volunteer Maryland Coordinator for the DRC.  Citizens are encouraged to call code enforcement when witnessing dumping or littered property to resolve these issues.  It helps to have digital pictures, exact addresses, and/or license plate numbers in order to hold people responsible for cleaning up illegally dumped refuse or poorly managed property.

The DRC would like to thank all participants of Project Clean Stream and recognize contributing organizations:

Now that the DRC has given away free trash cans to those in need through the 'Don't Trash Our Dundalk' campaign, there should be no reason not to keep your trash in a can. If it can't all fit, then learn to recycle!  If it still can't fit, then reduce your use!  If you'd like a metal trash can with a lid, then call the DRC for the unbeatable price of $15.
