Dundalk Man Wins $50K from Maryland Lottery

The winner bought his ticket on Merritt Boulevard.

The Maryland Lottery announced that a Dundalk man claimed $50,000 on Friday after playing Bonus Match 5.

In the game, players try to match five numbers, which are drawn nightly.

“I compared the winning numbers and was stunned," the man said, in a statement from the Maryland Lottery. "I kept saying to myself, ‘This can’t be happening.’”

Lottery officials said the man purchased his ticket for the March 27 drawing at the BP at 800 Merritt Boulevard.

The Dundalk man reportedly said the money would help him face financial challenges: “It’s been a very tough couple of months for me," he told lottery officials. "This is really a relief..."

Recently, the Dundalk Giant also sold a winning lottery ticket, in a March Powerball drawing that left a Dundalk man $1 million richer.
