Multiple Memorials Honor Fallen Lacrosse Coach From Dundalk

Kristina Trionfo Quigley, 30, graduated from Dundalk High School in 2001.

In the days following Kristina Quigley's death, mourners have spanned states and shown their support for the fallen coach everywhere from the field to Facebook.

Quigley, 30, a Dundalk graduate, was the head coach of the Seton Hill University lacrosse team that was bound for a weekend game when the bus veered off the Pennsylvania Turnpike Saturday morning, killing the coach and the driver. Quigley was six months pregnant.

The students Quigley coached at the Catholic university outside Pittsburgh created a memorial for her near a lacrosse goal, which The Patriot-News photographed.

A more formal service, lasting approximately one hour, took place on campus Sunday and was attended by hundreds, according to media reports.

In addition, Seton Hill students created the Facebook page "Play 4 Seton Hill" as a virtual memorial for the victims of the March 16 crash. It had more than 8,000 likes as of Tuesday evening.

Quigley died from traumatic injuries after the team's bus crashed into a tree on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, according to WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh. The station reported her unborn son, Jackson, died from complications as a result.

Quigley was described as a standout lacrosse player at Dundalk High School, where she was a member of the class of 2001. According to Baltimore Lacrosse News, she contributed to Dundalk's ascension in the 2001 regional semifinals.

Quigley is survived by son Gavin and husband Glenn.

The viewing for Kristina Trionfo Quigley will be Wednesday and Thursday at Connelly Funeral Home in Essex from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Our Lady of Fatima
