Report: SEIU Endorsing Brown for Governor

The Service Employees Union International will endorse Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown in Baltimore on Monday

A major union is set to endorse Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown’s 2014 gubernatorial bid on Monday, according to The Washington Post.

Sources familiar with the Service Employees International Union’s decision, confirmed for the newspaper the endorsement ahead of the announcement scheduled for 3 p.m., Monday in Baltimore.

"The endorsement ensures the campaign will receive significant union support, including hundreds of SEIU member-volunteers who will knock on thousands of doors, make thousands of phone calls, and speak out within their communities," the union claims in a news release about the scheduled endorsement.
