Rain Garden Work Party!

Rain gardens are systems that help reduce storm water run-off and prevent local flooding and possible seepage into buildings by directing water flow to drains made to handle the volume.  The gardens are designed to direct rain from downspouts into plots with plantings that are water-loving, before dispersing the excess that would otherwise damage hillsides and create flooding in roadways and low-lying areas. In addition to the benefit of controlling storm water run-off, they also add beauty and provide habitat for birds and butterflies.

Please come join Jacqueline from the Dundalk Renaissance Corporation for the planning and planting of the new rain garden for Peter Rabbit Day Nursery.

Digging will begin on Wednesday Dec. 3 at 3 pm and continue the following day on Dec. 4that 3 pm.  Location: 2901 Liberty Pkwy, Dundalk.
