Donna's to Hold Crab Feast to Benefit Suicide Prevention Week

The St. Helena tavern and restaurant will host the event Sept. 8.

Donna's Tavern and Restaurant will hold a crab feast next month to benefit the 39th annual Suicide Prevention Week, which kicks off Sept. 8.

The feast of Maryland's favorite crustaceans will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 8 at the restaurant, 6607 Pine Ave. in St. Helena.

"We are hosting this event because we have empathy for the group and families who have experienced this type of loss," restaurant manager Heather Sekora said. "We are always looking for ways to give back from any event that we host."

Tickets cost $33.95 in advance and $40 at the door, according to Sekora. Tickets for children ages 4 to 12 are half-price and children 3 and younger will be admitted free of charge.

The event will include all-you-can-eat steamed crabs, corn on the cob, Maryland crab soup, lunch meat platters, salads, desserts and non-alcoholic soft drinks.

A cash bar will be available, with specials including $1 canned beers and $2 rail drinks.

Music will be provided by Tenacious.

"They're an awesome band," Sekora said.

Raffle tickets will be sold and door prizes will be awarded, according to a flyer for the event.

Tickets are on sale now, with limited seating available.
