DONATE ‘PENNIES FROM HEAVEN’ AT JCPENNEY IN EASTPOINT MALL TO THE FRANKLIN SQUARE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB

JCPenney launched a nationwide philanthropic campaign that invites customers to turn small change into “pennies from heaven” by rounding up their purchases and donating the difference to a local afterschool organization. The Salvation Army Baltimore Boys and Girls Clubs are part of the 1,100 afterschool organizations matched with a local JCPenney store that will benefit from the proceeds raised during the pennies from heaven campaign. The first pennies from heaven event will kick off July 31 through Aug. 27.

The afterschool program offered at the Boys and Girls Club of America serves more than 4.8 million students each year by involving them in programs that help kids develop social skills, provide opportunities to be physically active and achieve academic success in school.

Each of the three Baltimore Salvation Army Boys and Girls Clubs work collectively with families, schools, and outside agencies to provide Baltimore Area at-risk youth, ages 6 to 18, with fun educational, recreational, cultural, and technological experiences. The Clubs' various programs and activities are designed to prepare at-risk youth for a successful transition into adulthood.
