Kenwood High Students Put the Treat in 'Trunk or Treat'

Children living at an eastern Baltimore County shelter were able to collect a lot of sweet loot thanks to the students' efforts.

When children living at the Eastern Family Resource Center's shelter went "trunk or treating" on the shelter's parking lot Friday, they were able to do so in style and collect a lot of loot, thanks to Kenwood High School students.

Sports Science Academy students collected candy and gently used costumes to support the program, according to a statement from Kenwood Good News Ambassador Joyce Gray.

The philanthropic students collected donations from Kenwood staff, students, families and community members and then prepared individual goodie bags that were delivered to the center.

"The outpouring of generosity from the Kenwood community made it possible to prepare about 500 treat bags," Gray wrote in the statement.
