Photo of the Day: Not Easy Being Green, Part 2

At North Point State Park, the hunt for lunch ends successfully for a green heron, but not so successfully for the prey.

Yesterday's Photo of the Day featured a green heron looking out over an algae-covered pond/swamp at North Point State Park.

The image, captured by Dundalk photographer Jimmy Rode, seemed to show a futile search for lunch, with the algae providing a safety net for the pond's inhabitants.

Today's image from Rode, titled "Cuisses de Grenouille," shows that patience—and having a sharp eye—paid off for the bird, which enjoyed a lunch considered a delicacy by many humans (though prepared slightly differently).
