Eastfield-Stanbrook Decorating Winners Range From Busy to 'Quaint'

The Eastfield-Stanbrook Civic Association announced the winners of its annual Christmas house decorating contest.

The Eastfield-Stanbrook community might be small but its Christmas spirit is mighty.

At least the was the impression given judges when they set out to choose the neighborhood's best-decorated houses for the Eastfield-Stanbrook Civic Association's annual Christmas decorating contest.

Two winners were ultimately chosen, but participation was so great that three runners-up were selected and many honorable mentions were given, as well as a "special honorable mention" awarded to a festive block of houses, according to association President Karen Cruz.

The winning houses are 7872 Kavanagh Road and 2227 Searles Road. The residents will receive gift cards for their creative displays and community spirit.

A panel of four judges walked the neighborhood, observing houses and taking notes. Five finalists were selected, and the two top winners were selected from the finalists, according to Cruz.

The runners-up are 1920 Denbury Road, 2708 Kirkleigh Road and 7841 Kavanagh Road.

Honorable mentions were awarded to 1945 and 1946 Searles Road; 7465 Lawrence Road; 7461 School Ave.; 1955 Stanhope Road; 1937, 1945 and 2022 Wareham Road; 1924 Ormand Road; 1938 Denbury Road; 7858 Harold Road; 7810 and 7846 Kavanagh Road; 7853 Kentley Road; 7843 Rockbourne Road; 1803 and 1839 Merritt Blvd.; 2708 Tilden Road; and 2008 Holborn Road.
