Dundalk, Southern Baltimore County Under Flash Flood Watch Sunday

The flash flood watch for parts of Baltimore County extends until 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Storms battered central Maryland Sunday afternoon, leaving parts of Baltimore County, including Dundalk, Essex and Middle River, under a flash flood watch until 10:30 p.m.

The forecast for Sunday afternoon and early evening calls for stretches of rain and thunderstorms with temperatures in the mid-to-upper 70s.

The National Weather Service issued the flash flood watch just before 3 p.m. Sunday.

It covers parts of Maryland, Northern Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, D.C. The watch called for localized storms dumping up to three inches of rain in short bursts.

The watch stated that creeks may rise quickly.
