Monster Trucks for the Whole Family

No Limit Racing Club gathers for high speed racing

Monster truck fans gathered for their own show Saturday morning as members of the No Limit R/C Monster Truck Racing club came together with their families at the Dundalk Moose Lodge to race their remote control monster trucks through a challenging course.

Members of all ages were out on a chilly morning to drive their remote control cars through a tricky course that featured sharp turns and ramps.

However, the day was about more than racing cars, it was also about spending time with family and friends.

“It is a great family atmosphere,” said No Limit Racing President Mike Hylton. “We do monster jam style racing. We set up drag races just like monster trucks and then we will do a free style competition where they can do trick jumps and things like that.”

Anyone is invited to come out and watch or race. No Limit Racing often donates their proceeds to a variety of different charities including autism awareness, Toys for Tots and breast cancer awareness.

“Anybody can come out and register their truck,” Hylton said. “And first time racers are always free. So if you want to come out here with your truck and try it out you can give it a shot.”

Hylton really stresses the family aspect of the club. He says No Limit is an alcohol and drug free event that is dedicated to families who have a passion for monster trucks.

The Santucci family has been racing cars since 2008; and joins Hylton at the Moose once a month.

“I just like that I have a good time and that’s all that matters,” said 7-year-old Shannon Santucci.

Shanon’s brother Sonny Santucci, 11, races his own cars and won the No Limit World Finals when we was 9.

“We all get together to race,” said Shanon and Sonny’s dad, Ronnie. “It is just a bunch of friends and if someone needs a part they share. It is a really good group.”

There is a real sense of camaraderie among the racers. Mark Agostinelli, whose 18-year-old son Chris has been racing for four years, says that everyone involved in the club is kind and encouraging.

“It is actually really cool,” Agostinelli said. “Everyone here is actually really supportive and they treat [my son] really well.

“The guys are great," he added. "In his first race, Chris had some problems and a guy took parts off his own car so Chris could finish his race.”

The club attracts members of all ages including 4-year-old Logan Wozniak, who enjoys crashing trucks and racing with his dad, Ronald.

Saturday’s events featured a qualifying round, and then a bracket style competition to see who could finish that day’s course with the fastest time.

The Dunalk unit of No Limit is not alone. They have races all over the country including a world final at Monster Truck legend Dennis Anderson’s house.

While Mark Agostinelli enjoys the racing, he says the best part is the family time.

“I just like hanging out with my son,” he said. “That’s the best part. It’s really family oriented and a great group of guys.”
