Chewie The Long-Haired Pug

Looking for a sweet and playful pup to add a little fun to your family? Meet Chewie. He’s young, smart, affectionate, and will make you laugh.

Hey Guys! My name is Chewie. My rescue friends named me Chewie after the Star Wars character, Chewbacca. Our hair is kind of similar, and I make funny noises when I want your attention. People notice me because I’m cute and have a funny little underbite when I smile, and then I get them laughing with an occasional snort ... I know how to work a crowd.

Mutts Matter folks think I’m a Pug/Cairn Terrier mix. I have the terrier energy level and spirit, and like to stay close to my people like a pug. I’m between one and two years old, weigh about 20 pounds and was rescued from a shelter in Maryland where I was picked up as a stray by Animal Control.

Can you imagine a sweet little guy like me roaming the streets alone? I’m so thankful to be safe and on my way to a better life.

Now I’m living in an awesome foster home with three other dogs to play with and foster parents who like to spoil me with toys, love, and attention. So yeah, life is pretty good. My foster mom says that I’m very sweet and smart and is surprised at how quickly I learn and respond to training. She has already taught me to sit and I got it right away. We’re working on leash walking now and I’m pretty darn good at that too. When I get a little excited or bark at another dog, my foster mom tells me to sit and I immediately calm down and get back on track.

Here are a few things you need to know about me. I’m potty-trained, I’m great with kids and other dogs but I’m not fond of crates, so my foster mom uses a baby gate to keep me in one place while I learn the house rules. I would fit well with most families, but having a few kids or other dogs in the house to play with would be ideal. I’m still young, so I will need some structure and regular play and exercise to keep me a healthy, happy and well-balanced pup.

I’m just a love bug at heart and lots of fun to be around. I love to go on walks and do great on car rides, and my favorite game is fetch. I’ll even bring the ball back to you—something a lot of dogs aren’t that good at. I like my chew toys, especially Nylabones, and I've figured out how to rip the squeakers out of the soft toys my foster parents give me. Unfortunately, my foster mom has gotten wise to this and is now buying me tougher toys that take more effort. No big deal, they don’t call me Chewie for nothing. I’m a snuggler too, and my foster parents laugh when I jump into their bed at night and burrow under the covers like a dog sandwich. It’s the best spot in the house—where else would I go?

So that’s me in a nutshell. I’m a lot of fun and have a lot of love to share, and I’m ready to meet my new family.

Another victim of OweMalley and his crew and their very unfriendly business climate. What a shameRead More and great pharmacy and some very nice people. Too bad
Dundalk Donnie June 18, 2013 at 10:53 pm
What does the closing of a Pharmacy have to do with the Governor? Nothing.

In retrospect, they should have built the LNG Plant. We would have had thousands of people working.
Wayne Monroe June 18, 2013 at 01:39 pm
Actually, if the country hadn't become a natural gas exporter rather than an importer the LNG plantRead More probably would have proceeded. Opponents raised such a fuss about the dredging required but if the state wants to dredge, step aside. They'll do what they want.

...and now they are changing over Cove Point from an import terminal to an export terminal. TheyRead More better order some more cranes from Shanghai Zenhui in China they take a while to build and transport here and the worldwide demand for them is huge. Those new container ships can transport 15,000 containers whereas the current ones max out at 5,000.

Well gee whiz Mr Hunt, I guess we should just roll over and take what is shoved to us.Kind of likeRead More they do in North Korea. This is a free country with officials elected BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE of which they represent. If the people that elect those official don't like how they are acting, WE THE PEOPLE have the right to complain about it!! Just like YOU just did.
Mike Hunt May 7, 2013 at 03:14 am
Mr. Samm, this situation is nothing like North Korea. WE, the PEOPLE, elected the councilman toRead More represent us, that is correct; however, I DID NOT elect Dundalk United to REPRESENT DUNDALK! They are a group of assholes who want nothing but the same shit in this area. We have to expand our minds if we want something better than we currently have. When they start doing that, let me know!
