Longtime Edgemere resident Susan Batson (nee Raker) died July 23 of cancer. She was 70.
Batson, a native of Cannonsburg, PA, was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Edgemere.
A homemaker for most of her adult life, she also drove a school bus for Baltimore County Public Schools for a time.
She enjoyed a variety of activities and interests, including reading, camping, cooking and country music.
Batson enjoyed hosting a huge annual summer party at her Shore Road home, and was known for throwing parties on holidays throughout the year.
She is survived by her domestic partner of 17 years, Jeff Jefferson; daughters Laurie and Michelle; sisters Frances, Sarah and Nancy; brother John and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
