7-Eleven on Sparrows Point Road Among Recent Armed Robberies

Several local armed robberies and burglaries are among recently reported Precinct 12 crimes.

March 16, 4:48 a.m.: Armed robbery. A white male, in a blue plaid jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, brown boots, brown gloves and an elastic bandage wrapped around his face, entered the 7-Eleven store in the 2300 block of Sparrows Point Road and implied to the employee that he had a gun. The suspect was able to grab an unknown amount of cash from the drawer and fled.

March 17, 8:35 p.m.: Armed robbery. A male driving a 49cc scooter near Avondale Road and Peach Orchard Road observed a man standing in the roadway. When the scooter driver stopped his vehicle, the suspect standing in the roadway pulled out a black handgun and pointed it at the victim. Then, the suspect got on the scooter and fled northbound on Avondale Road toward Sollers Point Road.

March 15, 10:09 a.m.: Armed robbery. A male suspect became irate during an argument with his ex-girlfriend, and pulled out a knife and threatened the woman, police allege. The ex-girlfriend attempted to exit the vehicle and tried to call police, but the ex-boyfriend physically removed the cell phone from the woman, preventing her from calling police, police allege. The suspect then left the location with the phone, according to police, and was later arrested near the intersection of Cameron Road and Dundalk Avenue.

Jeffrey Dwayne Gorham, of the unit block of Akin Circle, in Middle River, is charged with armed robbery, second-degree assault, first-degree assault, malicious destruction of property of less than $500, theft of less than $1,000. According to online court records, he remains committed to the Baltimore County Detention Center.

March 14, 7:14 p.m.: Armed robbery. In the 7500 block of Holabird Ave., a man was approached by a suspect who was attempting to obtain a ride to the Eastpoint Mall. The suspect then produced a black, semi-automatic handgun and demanded the man turn over his money, police allege. After taking the victim’s money, the suspect fled on foot through the Holabird East Apartments, police allege.

March 11, 3:33 p.m.: Armed robbery. In the 3500 block of McShane Way, the victim invited his cousin and two other men into his home. Once inside the home, one of the suspects assaulted the victim, putting a knife to his throat, and then stole a Glock handgun, a silver bracelet and $185 from the victim's bedroom.

March 16, 5:35 a.m. – 4:55 p.m.: First-degree burglary. In the 7100 block of Holabird Ave., unknown suspects pushed out the window to the enclosed rear porch, then broke the glass pane in the door. Entering the kitchen, the suspects stole jewelry, including a watch, a gold chain and necklace.

March 10, 11:03 a.m.:  Attempted first-degree burglary. In the 7800 block of Kentley Road, a male suspect attempted to pry open a kitchen window with a gardening tool, police allege. The victim yelled at the suspect, who fled the location, police allege.

William Joseph Jazwinski, of the 300 block of Pinewood Road, was charged with attempted first-degree burglary and fourth-degree theft.

March 10, 11:40 p.m.: Attempted fourth-degree burglary. In the 8200 block of Eastern Ave., a male placed a ladder against the building and gained access to the roof, police allege. The male suspect removed HVAC panels from the roof unit and was found hiding in the HVAC unit, police allege, with tools next to the panels on the roof.

Basil Brown Bradford, Jr., of the 1500 block of Joppa Road in Towson, is charged with fourth-degree theft, fourth-degree possession of burglary tools, and possession of a controlled substance, not marijuana.
