7-11 Robbed; Sparrows Point H.S. Arrest Among Recently Reported Crimes

A sampling of recently reported crimes in Precinct 12/North Point included armed robbery, assault and home burglaries.

E. Baltimore St., 7200 block, 3:40 a.m., May 4. A man entered a 7-Eleven store and walked around for a while and then pretended to pay for a magazine, at which time he told the cashier to open the cash register. The man then jumped on the counter and stole $150 from the register, fleeing with the money and the magazine.

Westfield Road, 7500 block, 5:06 p.m., May 8. A man allegedly forced his way into his father’s home and stole a black handgun magazine containing 12 9mm rounds, valued at $30. The man was arrested inside the home, according to police.

Joseph Allen King, 31, of the 1900 block of Inverton Road, was charged with first-degree burglary and theft of less than $1,000.

Juniper Lane, 100 block, 2:45 p.m., May 4. A 17-year-old student arrived home and found the back door kicked in. The student was struck by a suspect in the home. The suspect was then forced out of the house by the student and an adult.

Isaiah Abraham Jewel, 18, of the 200 block of Chestnut St. in Dundalk, was charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property less than $500, second-degree assault and possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure.

North Point Road, 7400 block, between 7:50 and 8:05 a.m., April 27. A 17-year-old male student grabbed and held a 16-year-old female student at Sparrows Point High School, twisted her arm and took her cell phone. According to police reports, the female victim was having problems with the male student leading up to this event. The male student was charged with robbery, second-degree assault and petty theft.

Shipping Place, unit block, 1 a.m., May 3. Two robbers, armed with a knife, asked a man to break a $2 bill. After receiving two $1 bills, the armed men robbed the man of $300.

Court Pleasant, unit block, between 4 p.m. May 7 and 6 p.m., May 8. A burglar removed a piece of plywood from a window at a home and, once inside, stole a black Apple laptop valued at $700 and a black 42-inch Sony HD television valued at $700.

St. Monica Drive, 4000 block, between 7:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., May 4. A burglar entered a home at the above location and took a Dell laptop computer valued at $500.

Holabird Ave., 1700 block, between 9 p.m. May 1 and 7:47 a.m. May 2. A rock was used to break the glass on a rear patio door. A bedroom was ransacked and $200 in currency was stolen.
