Car Crashes Into Eastpoint Applebees; No One Injured

Middle River resident Mohini Das thought her car was in drive but it was still in reverse.

No one was injured when a car crashed into the Applebees Neighborhood Grill at Eastpoint Mall on Tuesday.

Mohini Das, 69, of Middle River, was backing her 2009 Hyundai Elantra out of a parking space when the crash occurred at about 1:43 p.m. Sept. 25, according to Baltimore County Police Department spokeswoman Louise Rogers-Feher.

Das told police officers she thought her car in drive when she attempted to proceed on her way. However, the car was still in reverse, and she crashed into the restaurant building.

"She backed into Applebees after first backing over a small electrical pole," Rogers-Feher said.

There was not significant damage to Applebees, according to a restaurant manager.
