One more last-minute safety tip before heading out to trick-or-treat—search for homes around your neighborhood where registered sex offenders live.

According to a release, police have advised registered sex offenders to take the following precautions:

I never allow my kids to do Trick or Treating outside our property. I had set them some limitations and had warned them that in our place sex offenders are very rampant. My husband and I had them registered to SafeKidZone. It's an application on their phone where they will be able to alert their loved ones when they are in trouble. The call can be escalated to the nearest 911, if needed. On this app too, they will be able to view threat level and sex offenders in an area. I am very thankful I have this kind of protection for my kids. If you would like to know more about the service, you can check out their site http://Safekidzone.com
