Elementary School Music Teacher Charged in Child Pornography Case

Lawrence Joynes, 54, of the 1900 block of Ormand Road, is being held in the Baltimore County Detention Center.

A New Hampshire Estates Elementary School music teacher has been charged with possession of child pornography, according to Baltimore County police.

Lawrence Joynes, 54, of the 1900 block of Ormand Road in Dundalk, is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center with bail set at $1 million, officials said.

The music teacher was charged with one count of possessing child pornography based on material found on his home computer, police said.

Montgomery County police have been notified of the charge against Joynes and will conduct their own investigation to determine if any criminal offenses occurred in that county, according to Balltimore County police.

New Hampshire Estates Elementary is located at 8720 Carroll Avenue in Silver Spring.

The investigation is ongoing and no other information is being released at this time.

Many, many questions remain. Why were the police looking at his home computer? Why was he charged in Baltimore County if he taught in Montgomery County? Were any actual children involved? I'd sure like to know more about this story.

A million dollar bail!?!? Murderers don't even get that kind of bail. One count of child pornography and $1million in bail? No way... Something is not right w this article...what did you miss here?

1 million bail! I think everyone should anon themselves when online. Not that I condone this of course. But go to torproject.org and learn how to anon yourself, whether or not you look at this stuff.
