Dundalk Pharmacy Hit by Burglars Seeking Narcotics

Burglary, rape, theft and another church break-in are among recently reported crimes.

On March 1, in the unit block of S. Dundalk Ave., after 6:30 p.m., unknown suspects entered the high-rise building above the Dundalk Pharmacy and waited for it to close. The suspects then broke through an interior wall that led into the pharmacy. Once inside, the suspects stole eight bottles of suboxone, a prescription narcotic used to treat opioid dependence.

On March 1, in the 9300 block of Sea Horse Court in Sparrows Point, at 1:20 p.m., a 911 call by a homeowner led to the arrest of two males who are accused of peering in her window and of planning a burglary. Helicopter and K-9 units responded and later caught the men in nearby woods.

Baltimore County police have charged Joshua Andrew Miller, 18, of the 9100 block of Cove Point Road, with attempted first-degree burglary and fourth-degree burglary. A local 16-year-old male was charged in connection to the incident.

On Feb. 28, in the 2100 block of Dundalk Ave., between 10:30 p.m. and 9:30 a.m., unknown suspects attempted to break into St. Timothy’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Two office door windows were broken and entry was gained, but nothing was reported stolen.

On Feb. 23, in the 7800 block of Wise Ave., between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m., a woman fell asleep in her apartment with a male friend next to her. When the woman awoke, she accused the suspect of having engaged in sexual intercourse with her.

Baltimore County police charged Kenneth Ray Vanover, of the 8000 block of Kavanaugh Road, with second-degree rape and second-degree assault. He is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center in Towson. Bail has been set at $150,000. The preliminary trail date is set for March 25.

On Feb. 22, at Young’s Boatyard, in the 1200 block of Gross Ave., between 1 a.m. and 9 a.m., two aluminum ladders, valued at $110, were stolen.

On Feb. 23, on Maxwell Avenue, at about 3 p.m., an unknown suspect pushed a 35-year-old man off his bicycle. The suspect fled on the bike, valued at $500, toward Dundalk Avenue.

On Feb 24, in the 2920 block of Liberty Parkway, between 4:50 p.m. and 5:15 p.m., an unknown suspect entered an apartment and stole $400. A rear door that had been locked was found open.

On Feb. 22, in the 7300 block of Dunbrook Court, between 10 a.m. and 8:45 p.m., a laptop computer, 42-inch television, another television and a camera were stolen from a home. The estimated value of the four items is $1,580. An unknown suspect entered by breaking the rear-door window.
