UPDATE: Fire At Ross Crab House Hits 3 Floors

Firefighters were conducting an external attack at the Dundalk eatery Sunday night.

UPDATE: (9:03 p.m.)—Flames spread to three floors at in Dundalk Sunday night, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department Twitter feed.

The blaze caused heavy fire damage throughout the building, located at 1109 North Point Road, and was contained to the basement shortly before 9 p.m., Lt. Jay Ringgold with the Baltimore County Fire Department said.

"It is contained to that one building; there are no injuries," Ringgold said.

Around 7:25 p.m. employees at the crab house noticed a fire in the basement of the business, Ringgold said.

The six employees and 15 customers evacuated the building, and a short distance away, were able to contact the fire department by phone.

Because of heavy stock in the basement of the business, firefighters couldn't easily reach the root of the fire and moved to battling the blazed from outside the building, Ringgold told Patch.

The fire went to a second alarm as more units were called to the scene.
