Firefighter Rescued from Trappe Road Blaze
No injuries reported to occupants or first responders in St. Patrick's Day fire.
A career firefighter was rescued after becoming trapped and disoriented in a basement fire of a multi-unit dwelling in Dundalk Saturday, according to a press release from the Baltimore County Fire Department.
At about 10:16 a.m., fire crews responded to a house fire in the 500 block of Trappe Road.
Within minutes, fire crews arrived at a multi-unit fire with smoke showing, according to the statement.

When one occupant reported that there were residents possibly still in the building, the fire was upgraded to a working basement fire with rescue, according to the statement.
Crews entered the structure and conducted a primary search but found no one.

Firefighters entered the basement to put out the fire. Because the unit was divided into six apartments, a firefighter from Sparrows Point Engine 57 became disoriented and called in a Mayday, signifying a trapped firefighter.
The Rapid Intervention Team entered the building and within minutes safely removed the trapped firefighter.
The fire was declared under control at 10:46 a.m., according to the statement.
No occupants or firefighters were injured in the blaze.
Nine occupants were displaced and are receiving Red Cross relocation assistance, according to the statement.
